Meet Our Mental Health Providers

Dr. Eric Morse is an Addiction and Sports Psychiatrist helping people recover from many addictions and mental illnesses. He has a busy Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) maintenance program for opioid dependence within his private practice in Carolina Performance at 8300 Health Park.
Dr. Morse works for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) Physician Clinical Support System as a mentor to help train other physicians on the proper treatment of opioid dependence.
Dr. Morse directs local opioid treatment programs. His treatment approaches include performance enhancement therapy, motivational interviewing, biofeedback, cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy, individual therapy, and medication management.
On April 9, 2021, Dr. Morse was awarded the Frederick B Glaser Award from the North Carolina Society of Addiction Medicine, a lifetime achievement award for excellence in Addiction Medicine in North Carolina. On November 2, 2022, Dr. Morse was awarded the Nyswander-Dole “Marie” Award from the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD) for lifetime achievement and advancement of the field nationally.

Dr. Joshua Dittmer is a residency-trained psychiatrist. He is also a veteran of the US Army with nine years of active-duty service. Dr. Dittmer has clinical experience working in diverse treatment settings and with a broad range of emotional and behavioral disorders.

Dr. Hima Palakurthi is double-board-certified in Child/Adolescent and General Psychiatry. She has focused her past eight years of clinical work in community mental health settings in urban and suburban areas. She offers services for a diverse range of clients with various degrees of severity.
Although her primary focus is Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, she will be happy to provide services for all age groups. Dr. Palakurthi provides individualized treatment plans to include family, cultural, psychological, and environmental factors that are unique to each individual.

Dr. Mitushi Mishra is a board-certified physician trained in adult psychiatry. She has had extensive training in psychopharmacology, as well as psychotherapy (CBT, ACT, DBT, psychoanalytic, family/couples, supportive). Dr. Erin Brooks is a Sports and Performance Psychiatrist. She is board-certified in General Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and is in the process of obtaining board certification in Sports Psychiatry through the American Board of Sports and Performance Psychiatry. Dr. Brooks provides psychotherapy and/or medication management for professional, college, and high school athletes, musicians, performers, leaders, and artists.
Dr. Brooks currently works at UNC Health Cancer Center in Raleigh and is the Medical Director of Cancer Support Services. Dr. Brooks previously worked as the Medical Director of the Rex Psychiatry Service. She has experience treating patients with mood disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, ADHD, and provides athlete-informed care.
Sports and music have always been a part of Dr. Brooks’s life. She played basketball and softball as a child and was on the dance team in high school. Dr. Brooks took piano lessons through the end of high school, performing as an accompanist for choral concerts and church events. She maintains an active lifestyle and continues to dance, does strength training, enjoys hiking, and just started playing tennis. Dr. Brooks recently finished the Cherry Blossom ten-miler in Washington, D.C., and finished her first half-marathon, both in April 2026.

Her background in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Consultation-Liaison Work, and Psychodynamic Approaches permits her to offer a wide breadth of therapeutic perspectives. She readily adapts from helping to set and achieve goals to offering support, self-exploration, and insightful guidance.
She has practiced in a wide variety of settings, and this has provided her a clear sense of the journey involved in seeking to attain optimal functioning.
